Fyodorov (1829 - 1903) was a philosopher, librarian, and futurologist who started the movement of Russian cosmism, an important philosophical and cultural movement that emerged in late 19th- and early 20th-century Russia that integrated science, religion, and metaphysics in its promotion of space exploration, the achievement of human immortality, and the uniting of humanity to achieve a "common task."
